In the words of Dorothy Sayers: “To do them justice, the people who crucified Jesus did not do so because he was a bore. Quite the contrary; he was too dynamic to be safe. It is has been left for later generations to muffle up that shattering personality and surround him with an atmosphere of tedium. We have declawed the Lion of Judah and made him a housecat for pale priests and pious old ladies.”

Today, I want to say a special “thank you” to all our troops that have lost their lives in the defense of our country. It is because of their sacrifice that we can enjoy the great luxuries that we enjoy today. Your ultimate sacrifice is so greatly valued.

Sometimes it is easy to forget the families left behind by these wonderful men and women…both my father and grandfather served in the military and I know the strains that it put on their families. It is impossible to know what it is like to have lost someone in a war unless you have been through it. My heart and thanks go out to all the families that have lost someone in the current war or past conflicts. Thank you.

“Wherever we find the Word of God surely preached and heard, and the sacraments administered according to the institution of Christ, there, it is not to be doubted, is a church of God.” ~John Calvin

“Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.”~ John Wesley (one of my favorites)

“Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can”~ John Wesley

“Winning isn’t everything, but wanting to win is.” ~Vince Lombardi

Once again

Today is the funeral for Pastor Forrest Pollock and his son Preston. I would like to say once again that our hearts and prayers go out to the family, staff, and membership of Bell Shoals Baptist. You guys are on our minds.

God pours out His great love in what sometimes may seem to be an utterly dark time. He is great and good. The best part of this whole story is that this is not the end. It is only the beginning. For a Christian, it only means that our lives, while they end here on Earth, they continue forever in the presence of an Almighty God.

Our Exec Pastor had knee surgery last week. The stories of what is going on at the Morale’s household are hilarious. When I saw this video…I could just see PJ.

Brenda you are one awesome woman! That is why we all love you so much.

PJ we miss you man. :)
