I have been waiting for this to come out so that I could officially move from my old NASB…to the new ESV. (Ok, I’ll be honest…I was waiting…and a little reluctant to change)

Now, you need to realize that this is major…I would say that in the last 12 years I have preaced over a thousand times….that Bible has been with me for every one. I have sermons written in the Bible, almost the entire Gospels section is highlighted with notes, and my hand can just run across the spine and I can turn to where I need to go. This new Bible is so “new” that the pages are sticking together.

But, here is why I made the switch…

1. ESV is so much more fluid. The NASB can be choppy at times because it works so hard at being word for word. The ESV is word for word, but has a little more poetic feel to it….making it easier to read, preach, and share.

2. It comes from a Reformed Evangelical viewpoint. I am a TULIP guy. If, you don’t know what that means….click here.

I hope to log a few more miles and venture into deeper places with this badboy at my side.
