Exciting meeting or slow death? You choose. May 28, 2008

Ok, I am not going to lie. There are some meetings that I get into that just flat wear me out (not nearly as many as when the church very first started). I find myself dreading them…looking for ways to hurt myself just so I can get out of them. There are people out there that just suuuuck the very life out of you. Have you ever felt like that headed into a particular meeting? I know you have. We all have. But, here is what I am learning about meetings…

1. If, you need my help you will get it. But, if you don’t listen to my advice or take my counsel…don’t expect there to be a second one until you do what we talked about in the first.

2. You have ten minutes to whine and groan…then I step in and start fixing. I realize most people don’t really want to fix their issues…they just want to rehash them with as many people as possible.

3. Try to cut out leadership meeetings that don’t excite you. If, I am not bringing my energy to it…it is going to be the suck. But, I looove getting into meetings where people are talking about vision, reaching people, or the Gospel. mmm mmm Good!

Tomorrow, I’ll give you a little insight into what meetings I get into that just excite me!

I look back on all those meetings we had together where I poured out 20% in the first 10 mins and you filled in the remaining 80% the following hour and half…hehe.. You really are a fixer!
