I just wanted to say.

In my opinion, I think the subject would have been more clearly addressed in the Bible if it were really that horrible for a woman to be a pastor. I definitely don’t have what it takes to take on a position like that, but I think there are women who could do better than most men. Obviously being male doesn’t qualify anyone to be a pastor. If a women says that she has been called into the ministry then more power to her. Who are we to judge? That is just my opinion of course
Just want to add…you and Sara did a great job Sunday. Very interesting

There’s definitely a place for women in ministry. Let’s face it, ministry NEEDS women. Women have skills essential to ministry that men just don’t have.
Everyone, man or woman, should do what they feel God is calling them to do. If a woman feels called into a certain area of ministry, then that’s what she should do.
With that being said, there is a difference between women in ministry leadership positions and women being in complete authority over men.
It has taken me quite awhile to get used to seeing women with the title of pastor. Personally, I just always felt that is a role that should be held by men. Can women be in pastoral positions? If that’s what they feel God has called them to do, then of course.
Should women be in a lead pastor position? That, I’m just not so sure about. It’s a tough one to call, especially because the bible isn’t clear. It’s possible that it’s not addressed in the bible because it wasn’t even an issue back then. Women understood, until recent years, that their role was to be man’s helper.
Based on the studying I have done, I personally feel that the role of the lead pastor should be held by a man. That may or may not be a popular opinion, but I have to stick with what God has placed in my spirit and what His word tells me. That doesn’t mean that women are beneath men, and it does not take away from women’s giftings and callings, it just strikes the delicate balance that needs to be in place in order for things to be the way they should be based on God’s word.
That’s why this is such a controversial topic - there really is no right or wrong answer. I think what it comes down to is talking to God, listening to God, and doing what He tells you to do.

It was funny…or I thought it was…the only people that had any questions or wanted to add to our discussion on Sunday was men. And, not in defense of women as the support but in defense of women as a pastor. My thoughts were varied with these guys, but I heard their heart. Some of them had been impacted greatly by women, others were just afraid to be a MAN!! Some are so used to women tellling us what to do that they don’t know how to act and have gotten used to it.

I guess I will be the first brave man to step into the ring.I’ve been trying to think about my answer before I get myself in too much trouble. I think as men, we have given up much of our authority and responsibility in church, home, work because it has become more and more acceptable by women to allow men to do so. God will bring forth His will in the Earth regardless of who He has to use. If men will not lead thier homes and churches, then God will use any who are willing. I believe in a perfect world that men would be the leaders both in the home and in the church. However, we do not live in a perfect world. I believe also that a woman can hold a leadership position in the church and receive and communicate vision. Ultimately though, I believe that that vision would have to come in subjection to a board of elders, and elders are according to the New Testament, male. Don’t hate it. Study it out.
