Today is my tenth anniversary. It brings up alot of emotions like…”Wow, where did all the time go?” and “That was so fast…I hope the next ten go a little slower.” But, one thing is for sure…husbands…time doesn’t slow down. It only seems to get a little crazier, faster, and more hectic.
My wife has not changed much at all in these last few years…to me anyways…(me quite a bit…when we got married I weighed 117 soaking wet) but my love for her has and here is why.
- Giving birth to four kids…I mean not only should she and any other woman that brings kids into the world be given some kind of medal…but gave me a greater sense of love and respect for her. I would be in the center of the bed in a fetal positions begging to die.
- Seeing her handle adversity and do it with grace and dignity. Me…I’m straight up redneck, but my wife, she is one classy lady.
- She is just a crazy as me. I love the fact that no matter what crazy ideas I throw her way she just takes them and goes with the flow. She knows that I am not her source but God is.
- She loves God, church, and people. I would water down that statement if I said anymore.
- I love hearing her worship with her Ipod and headphones thinking that no one is around :p (Ain’t no shame in my game.) I got it on tape. :p
- I love how she loves our kids. It is amazing to see how passionate she is about their education. And, not only ours but the two hundred or so kids that she has had come through her classes the past few years. I know they are better because of her guidance.
- She can cook! I mean dang can she cook! We learned how to make salsa together the other day…and she knows her stuff.
- She lets me work hard…doesn’t nag me when things are pressing…and makes our home a peaceful and welcome sanctuary. Ladies the Bible says it is better to live on the corner of the roof than with a naggy, overbearing wife.
Val, I love you. Thank you for the last ten years. Thank you for everything you have given…even the stuff I haven’t seen…

…. I need a tissue. That was so sweet. I love how your guys’ love for the Lord is evident in your love towards eachother. It’s beautiful.
THANK YOU both for setting such a good example for us youngsters, on how a Christ centered marriage should be
