My daughter is constantly exploring now. The other day she wiggled her hand into one of our kitchen chairs…got it stuck. She put her hand through the hole and then made a fist, which made it entirely impossible for her to pull her hand back through the hole she put it in. Now, here I come, with the full understanding of what a fist is, and I try to get her to relax this big ball of fingers at the end of her hand so she can get out of the mess she is in.

And, there’s the point…what are we holding onto that is keeping us stuck? What are we holding onto in our marriages, our minds, our hearts, and more importantly from our past…that is keeping us hung up and unable to move forward? In the same way it frustrated me to communicate a truth that would help my daughter get free, I wonder how it must frustrate God when we won’t listen to His simple instructions to get us on the right path again!!

If, we are stuck whose to blame? God? Well, no, because He is the author and finisher of our faith. But, He has to have our willingness and obedience. Without those things we are just…well…stuck!
