Here are some things going on behind the scenes that have just been challenging the heck out of me..

1. I am really feeling overwhelmed by the question series. There have been some serious questions asked that are challenging me and my level of faith. So, in order to prepare for it…I have stepped my study up a notch or two. I just finished reading a book called The Doctrines that Divide by Erwin Lutzer. If, you are into church doctrines and really just learning as much as you can about why you believe the way you believe…you need to pick this one up.

2. Gary Lamb’s Confession of a Pastor series is a must listen for every leader and church member out there. This guy is nuts…you can download it via his podcast.

3. Mark Driscoll preached a sermon about the differences and failures of the emerging church. It was unreal….and to beat it all…he preached it at a Southern Baptist Convention. Mark + Baptists = Good times. Check out their website to download it.

4. John 16:23-33…has been eating me up. If we could just learn the power of asking…and asking for big things…then God would give them to us….through Jesus who powerfully died for us on the cross. Then the tribulation part in this life and how Jesus has overcame this world…good stuff.

5. Pastor John and I are having some serious talks about what it means to be a christian, pastor, elder, and the role that women have to play in all of those. It has become a major issue in our question series. The amount of questions that I have had on this one is pretty crazy.
